AU 2025 Wrap-Up: How Lens360 by iFieldSmart AI Turns Talk into Action

By ifieldsmartblogsSeptember 22, 2025 Article
Reading Time: 5 minutes

As an exhibitor at Autodesk University 2025, it was a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with innovators, industry leaders, and users eager to explore the future of construction technology. Sharing Lens360’s AI-powered 360° reality capture solution was just the beginning. The three-day conference packed attendees with insights, inspiring conversations, and demonstrations of how data, AI, and digital tools are reshaping the jobsite.

Starting with Day 1’s opening segment about cloud collaboration and AI in applications, follow through to the live demos of Lens360 and open conversations on immersive experience into VR/AR on Day 2, the conference emphasized one thing clearly: construction technology is moving ahead, and the significance is in practical tools that enhance efficiency, accountability, and sustainability. By Day 3, the focus had shifted to how to leverage all of those technologies back into value-creating work streams, including digital twins, sensor data, and how AI has real-world outcomes for targeted decision making.

We left AU 2025 with a reinforced belief: the solutions we are building on the lens360 by ifieldsmart.ai are exactly what the industry needs to fill the gap between design and execution. Let’s break down our key learnings and how they align with the features and capabilities we showcased.

AI isn’t hype anymore. It’s working in the field

The strongest current across sessions and conversations was AI. People aren’t asking “what if” anymore. They’re asking, “How soon can we put this to use?” From generative AI for design to agent AI for automating tasks, Autodesk University made it clear that AI is moving from concept to reality on the construction site.

Here’s the thing: construction sites already generate an enormous amount of data, including photos, BIM models, RFIs, and inspections. The problem isn’t collecting it, it’s making sense of it. That’s where Lens360 fits in.

We demonstrated how AI-powered 360° capture lets teams walk the site virtually, producing complete as-builts in minutes. No scattered photos, no guessing context later. Our AI-driven observation reporting scans these captures and flags issues. Combined with human review from field experts, the result is a clear, actionable site report that saves hours of manual work.

Progress Tracking: Keeping Projects on Course

A frequent question from visitors at our booth focused on progress tracking. Construction projects are dynamic, and delays or deviations can cost time and money. Lens360 addresses this by detecting deviations between the planned model and current site conditions.

Project managers can see exactly which elements are on track and which require immediate attention. This isn’t just about monitoring, it’s about enabling proactive decisions and preventing small issues from becoming costly problems. Progress tracking in Lens360 turns reactive workflows into proactive management.

Digital Twins and Point Clouds: From Visualization to Action

If Day 1 focused on cloud and AI, Day 2 spotlighted digital twins and reality capture workflows. Digital twin creation used to feel like a luxury, reserved for the biggest budgets. AU 2025 showed it’s becoming essential across projects of all sizes.

Lens360 automatically converts 360° captures into digital twins and point clouds, keeping site reality in sync with BIM models. QA/QC becomes more straightforward because discrepancies are immediately visible. Project managers can virtually walk through a space, compare it to the design model, and see exactly where work stands.

These digital twins also have long-term value. Owners can use them for facility management, creating verifiable records from day one that extend well beyond project closeout.

AI Insights and Data Integration: Turning Data into Decisions

Capturing the site is one thing. Turning that information into actionable insights is another. One of the recurring themes throughout AU 2025 was that teams are drowning in data but starving for insights. Lens360 bridges that gap.

Our platform doesn’t just store captures and reports; it processes data with AI, identifies trends, highlights risks, and surfaces what matters most. This includes progress trends, safety deviations, and QA/QC alerts. By integrating directly with Autodesk Construction Cloud, they deliver insights where teams already work, not locked in separate data stores.

This helps executives to see the projects in the real-time dashboards, field teams can get real-time notifications, and everyone is working from the same set of data. AI is not just a feature, but the fuel that feeds the smartest, fastest, and secure decisions of construction.

Sustainability as a Core Priority

Sustainability remained a dominant topic during all three days of AU 2025. From material circularity to reducing waste through better documentation, the industry is treating sustainability as a central driver.

Reality capture plays a direct role. By catching issues early, we cut down on rework. Reducing constant site visits also cuts emissions. Replacing paper binders with organized digital closeout documentation saves both time and resources. Lens360 ensures owners get verifiable, structured records immediately, supporting accountability and sustainable practices.

Integration is the New Expectation

One thing was clear from conversations over all three days: construction teams don’t want standalone tools. They want solutions that fit easily into existing workflows.

That’s why Lens360 emphasizes Autodesk in-app integration. All captures, reports, and progress updates sync directly to Autodesk Construction Cloud. It is not about replacing workflows; it’s about making them smarter and reducing errors. Integration is what drives adoption, ensuring teams can access insights and documentation where they already operate.

Immersive experiences are Shaping Collaboration

VR and AR were major talking points, particularly for Day 2 and Day 3 sessions. Seeing a PDF or photo is one thing. Stepping into the project virtually is another.

Allow owners to experience verified site conditions with Lens360, VR/AR walkthroughs, and Meta Oculus support. Trade partners can overlay digital models to identify clashes before they arise. These immersive experiences improve decision-making, decrease misunderstandings, and unite with the stakeholders.

Key takeaways from AU 2025

  • AI is solving real problems on site, from issue detection to progress tracking.
  • Digital twins and point clouds are becoming standard for QA/QC, handovers, and long-term management.
  • Sustainability is shaping decisions; clients want proof that tech reduces waste and risk.
  • Integration drives adoption; connected platforms replace siloed apps.
  • Immersive VR, AR, and Meta Oculus experiences are moving from demos to practical collaboration tools.
  • AI insights are as important as data capture, enabling informed decisions in real time.

What’s next for us

AU 2025 was an amazing platform for previewing Lens360 and connecting with industry leaders. But that’s only the start. What we are gearing up for next is supporting contractors, owners, and project managers to leverage these tools on real projects.

Whether it is AI-powered 360° capture, progress tracking, digital twins and point clouds, organized closeout documentation, or immersive VR/AR experiences, we want to make construction data useful, available, and actionable.

We are continuing to build integrations and enterprise connections, because the future of construction technology relies on connected tools – not siloed apps.

Final Thought

Autodesk University 2025 confirmed what we already believed. The industry is ready for AI, digital twins, immersive collaboration, and actionable insights to move from promise to practice. At Lens360 powered by iFieldSmart, we’re proud to be part of that movement.

What excites us most isn’t just the technology itself. It’s what happens when teams, from field crews to executives, finally have clarity. Fewer disputes. Faster progress. Best results. This is what we saw at AU 2025, and that’s what we are building every day.
