Then construction begins, and reality starts editing the plan. An installer shifts a hanger to clear an obstruction. A revision lands after a trade has already started. A field condition turns out to differ from the drawings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>None of that is a failure. It&#8217;s the reality of working in construction. The risk lies in not knowing about it. Did the installation follow the approved design? Does a discrepancy trace back to a change nobody recorded? Did the latest revision reach the crew? Each question needs dependable field information, and that is usually the scarcest ingredient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Lens360: Bringing Site Reality into BIM<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A 360-degree capture provides a full 360-degree image of the area, showing the context surrounding the installation and the installation itself. Keeping a consistent capture schedule, having clean capture records, and doing spot checks to make sure captures are in the right place and on the right date are more important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>VDC: Turning Coordination into Action<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Virtual Design and Construction brings models, project information, and construction planning together and integrates the people who practice it as the team&#8217;s navigators. They run model reviews, identify and solve conflicts between disciplines, and interpret design choices in the context of the project to aid in the decision making process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their work continues long after a review wraps. A revised system can crowd the space another trade expected to use. Site conditions can reopen a decision that looked closed. Clash detection flags geometric conflicts, but a flag settles nothing. Somebody has to weigh the issue, reach agreement on a solution, and delegate responsibility to check that the coordinated model represents the solution decided on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two practices keep that work grounded. Site documentation supplies context at the moment a discrepancy needs review. BIM-to-field comparison is one method to assist in field coordination. Combined with other techniques to help resolve issues it ties the comparison to what is built to the issues the team needs to focus on first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Mixed Reality: Experiencing Spaces Before Construction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Stakeholders can walk through BIM models and experience the spaces in a fully immersive environment using headsets.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifieldsmart.ai\/vdc-mixed-reality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Mixed Reality<\/a> allows for better visualization of building models and helps to point out potential discrepancies of the models.
